COMPETITION RULES

         I.            Course and run

The course consists in a straight line clearly delineated with buoys. Its length is determined by the organizers of the event.  All contestants ride on the same course.

All riders perform a two-passes run. After a first pass along the course in one direction, the boat stops completely, then the second pass is executed immediately in the opposite direction.

In case of falls, the rider restarts at the place he fell. If a fall occurs at a distance from the end of the course corresponding to the
average distance travelled during a normal start, there is no restart. This distance is clearly indicated by a buoy and mentioned to the
                contestants.

All manoeuvres completed outside the delineated course are not considered by the judges. There must be majority from the judges
                t
o call a manoeuvre “out of course”.

All tricks performed with the help of the towrope are not considered by the judges. This rule does not apply to the “surfer” category,
but the scoring will take into account the use of the rope.

All tricks and manoeuvres implying a contact of the rider or board with the boat are forbidden. If a rider (or board) touches intentionally
the boat or touches it during the execution of a manoeuvre, he is automatically disqualified. If a contact of the rider or board occurs
during a fall, there is no disqualification. In other circumstances, when a non intentional contact occurs, the judges decide whether the rider
               is disqualified or not.

Performing a manoeuvre that is forbidden in a given category disqualifies immediately a rider. In the “surfer” category, all rotation of more
than 180 degrees (no 360) is forbidden. If other manoeuvres are forbidden in a given category, they will be clearly stated before the
               competition starts.

The number of fall itself does not disqualify a rider, but may be considered in the evaluation of his performance.

       II.            Equipment

All contestants must wear an approved vest or a vest that will absolutely float a contestant who is unconscious.

The riders are responsible or their choice of board. Board transfers (trick) are forbidden. If a contestant wants to change his board, he must plan to leave another board in the boat and give notice to the driver when he wants to do the transfer, which will be made once the boat stops.

It is the sole responsibility of riders to ensure their equipment is in proper working condition.

In case of the breaking of material, if the contestant asks for replacing or repairing his equipment, he has five minutes as from the moment he is driven to the dock or shore to make the repairs or replacements. He then restarts in the course at the place he interrupted his pass.

The organizers of the event provide the towrope and handle.

    III.            Reruns and protests

In case of exceptional attenuating circumstances, like sudden extreme bad weather, an event compromising the security of the rider or a gross
error from the driver, a contestant has the right to ask for a rerun. This demand must be made during or right after the pass. The judges will
decide to give or not a restart from the distance at which the incident was noticed or a rerun and the appropriate time.

Any contestant has the right to submit a protest, which must be written and presented to the head judge within the twenty minutes following the posting or declaration of the results, with a cash deposit of 50.00$. All protests submitted after this period will not be considered.

    IV.            Sportsmanlike conduct

Any discriminating and/or disrespectful behaviour towards other contestants, promoters, spectators, sponsors, judges or volunteers on the site and during the event is liable to the disqualification of contestants. Any conduct or action compromising the security on the site or causing material damages is also subject to disqualification. When the persons concerned are contestants, this decision belongs to the head judge and is undisputable. If it is not the case, the promoter of the event decides whether he excludes or not the responsible persons from the site.
